A few of my haiku and poetry reflections on prayer and the inner life
To hide from your life
To deem it unimportant
Is to fall asleep
What would it be like
to cease striving for awhile
And rest in my love
Love is the gaze
That fills us to the brim
And does us in!
Prayer is the longing
For what we already have
Union with Divine
Inside of you
There is a flowing fountain
Of living water
A Little Quiet
Light a little candle
Spend a little time
Be a little quiet
And know that you are Mine
Still the inner chatter
That you might hear My heart
It’s beating in your breast, my dear
And knows your every part
Your worries are so many
And peace is hard to find
Come, just sit with Me a while
And learn to know My mind
And when this flame’s exintinguished
And you’re attending to your cares
Know My heart is in your heart
In love abiding there
This awakening
Not a process of gaining
But of letting go
Grace is a mother
Who holds your face in her hands
Loving what she sees
Make friends with yourself
In honesty and kindness
Stay close to this friend
